| ACCUEIL | Musculation : Le muscle biceps crural |
|
The biceps femoris is on the rear part of the thigh. It is a thick muscle that is composed of two parts: a long and a short one. The biceps femoris is part of the muscular group of the iliotibial tract. It takes its origin on the ischium (bone of the pelvis) and ends by a common tendon on the head of the fibula (bone of the external part of the leg). The main action of the biceps femoris is the bending of the leg on the thigh (movement that consists in pushing the heel to buttocks). It also permits the external rotation of the leg. © BODYPLANET 1998 - 2008
