| ACCUEIL | Musculation : Les muscles soléaires |
|
Son action principale est l'extension du pied (mouvement qui consiste à monter sur la pointe des pieds, en soulevant le talon du sol). Le muscle soléaire est très souvent très difficile à développer et fait parie avec les muscles jumeaux du triceps sural.
Located on the rear outer part of the leg, the soleus muscle is thick, and flat. It takes its origin on the superior part of the fibula and the tibia (bone of the leg) and ends by a common tendon (with twins) that is called the Achilles tendon.
This tendon fixes on the calcaneus (bone of the foot). Its main action is the extension of the foot (movement that consists in standing on tiptoe, by raising the heel). The soleus is very often very difficult to develop and is part with the twin muscles, of the gastrocnemius. © BODYPLANET 1998 - 2008
